Journal Challenge Day 7: Top 3 Pet Peeves?
My pet peeves aren't those cliche ones like wearing socks and sandals or people chewing with their mouths open, while I think those are both tacky and icky that doesn't really bother me, At least not as much as my top three do.
My first one is having my feet touched.... Don't ever touch my fricken feet. Ever. I hate that with a fiery passion okay. My feet are ticklish as fuck and literally, anything and everything tickles them. Jackson will come up every once in a while and lick my feet, I love him but omg stop. I've kicked numerous amounts of people because of it. For my birthday one year, my aunt got a certificate for a pedicure... which shows how well she knew me, I think she just wanted one and wanted someone to go with her. My birthday is in the dead of summer, that's prime sandal time. Anyway, we went to this salon and the poor gal who was working on my feet was so hugely pregnant. She was gonna burst at any second. The entire time I was absolutely terrified I was going to end up kicking her in the stomach and killing her child. It was NOT a good time. Please don't touch my feet or buy me a pedicure.
Another thing that drives me up the wall, and I'm guilty of it sometimes too, is people's addictions to their phones. When I'm alone I'm on my phone a lot, or but when I'm with people I try to be 100% there and present and I would greatly appreciate that in return. I feel so rude when I'm out with people and I pull out my phone, I don't understand how groups of kids can sit in a coffee shop and be glued to these stupid little devices the entire time. If I go out with people and the whole time I'm with them they're on their phones, I'm going home early, I can text you from home bitch bye. What I can't do from home is make eye contact with you while we speak, or actually hear your laugh or have a more in-depth conversation than just "Hey look at this meme." I miss being connected to people in person. I didn't have a cell phone when I was in high school like everyone else did. I bought my own phone when I got my first job at 18yo and I only got it because I worked a late shift and walked home. Maybe that's why I'm not as addicted to them as other people my age. I like my phone and I do use it a lot but I know when to put it away.
When people are rude to the people serving them... That is the absolutely ugliest personality trait, you are not better than the person helping you on tech support, or your waitress, or your hotel maid. It only takes a second to make someone's day but it also only takes a second to ruin it. These people are not defined mentally and emotionally but their corporate protocol. Also, they're people and people make mistakes, I've been a waitress twice in my life now and I can definitely recall times where I forgot someone's jam or I got their side item wrong... I'm a human, we all make mistakes and forget things. Just flag me down, be polite, and explain the problem. I guarantee there's a easy solution. Don't leave a note on the bill saying you refuse to tip because I didn't get you your strawberry jam in time... like who do you think you are... You ugly, you're personally is trash and I don't like you.
This is a super-salty post but whatever, comment your pet peeves and we can be salty together. Thanks for reading.
